A Dark dinner

Day 35 - A Dark dinner

A Dark dinner

The Dark family went out for dinner. "Honey! What are you doing?! I think that was our waiter, not the entrée!"

Exploring the area

Day 34 - Exploring the area for signs of winter

Exploring the area

"Yessss.... after living in the fridge for the summer it looks like this area is ready for winter, ice, the cold and MY REIGN! Whoehahahahahaaaaa"

While most of Europe (and the U.S.) has to deal with a lot of snowy, icy and cold winter-weather, around here (the south of the Netherlands), it's pretty decent. Sun, a little cold in the morning, sometimes a little rain and the birds are happily whistling in the morning. It feels like spring, and has felt so for the last couple of weeks. Mr. Freeze things it's going to change... and I hope he's wrong. I like winter... but the window of opportunity for winter has gone by for me. It's time for spring, certainly now the days are getting longer again ad I actually get to see a little sunlight during a working-week. It would be cruel to make this spring turn into winter.... then again... nature can be very cruel.

And HERE’s episode 51 of Foolish Lego the web-comic, a brand *new* one!

In a hurry...

Day 33 - In a hurry...

In a hurry...

This morning I was watching the beautiful sunrise standing in my backyard when I saw Willy coming by in a hurry. I have no idea where he was going, but it looked like  some sort of an emergency. I wonder If I'll ever know...

In wintertime it's always difficult to get a photo in the sun. The working-days start and end in the dark, so I have only a small window of opportunity in the weekends, and then I hope it's not all that cloudy or raining. Today was a good day.

Teddy

Day 32 - Teddy

Teddy

"Hey dad, I'm taking Teddy to bed, bye!" "Hm hm, yes son, of course you can take your stuffed bear to bed. Good night."

The original idea for this photo was a little different. My (or better said, my wife's) idea was that junior took a real bear to bed, in stead of his stuffed bear, and that the parents would be very scared. After I finished the photo, it could still be that he's taking a real bear to bed, but (to me at least) it has a little 'calvin-and-hobbes-feel' to it... maybe the bear really IS his Teddy and he sees his differently than his parents do. In this little scene his father doesn't see the bear after all, so both scenario's are possible. Have you folks ever read Calvin and Hobbs?  If you haven't, just go and get that comic now, you won't be disappointed, it's the best comic ever (in its genre)!

So what do you like to think; is the bear real.... or isn't it? :)

Get me an Orc!

Day 31 - Get me an Orc!

Get me an Orc!

"I told you to get me an ORC not a dork!!!"

To be honest I'm not all to happy about this photo. There are a lot of things I'm not to happy about. Normally I would go back out, and make new shots until I get the one I'm happy about. Today -for some reason- I just couldn't bring myself to go back to work and get a better one. So I can only promise you to get back in the saddle tomorrow and bring you photo's I myself am happy to publish...

YAY, I am happy about this one ==> HERE’s episode 50 (!) of foolish Lego the webcomic... a *new* episode.

Rough day

Day 30 - Rough day...

Rough day

The last few weeks I've been getting up early each day...around 6 AM. It gives me a few very productive hours before the real working day starts. I'm not really used to this, so I really need a way to get used to this. Sometimes in the afternoon I'm even struggling to keep my eyes open. Well, you get the picture; I know how this guy feels!

There's no light at the end of the tunnel

There's no light at the end of the tunnel

DJ Train Wreck probably was a little too much for Suzy's eight birthday party.

Lego toy photography - desperate in a zombie apocalypse

Day 27 - Desperation

Lego toy photography - desperate in a zombie apocalypse

Today's photo is a little...well... depressing. It is to me at least. A lot of the photo's I like tell a story. What I mean is that they make you think of a story, wondering how things got to be as they are in the photo, how they are before and how they will be in the future. And in the best case a scene will elicit some emotion. This little scene makes me wonder about just that. I hope everybody who sees the photo instantly makes up a backstory to the current situation, even if you don't want to. What story did it give you? (if any) You could share it in the comments. :)
