Eno here we come!
Technical problem
Last week there was some kind of glitch so this episode was not published, besides that I had trouble publishing it later last week. Last Friday the glitch was gone after checking code, looking into the site memory (again) and cleaning cashes and looking into some speed hacks on the site. I don’t know what exactly did it, but everything seems to work again.
Vacation here we come!
I’m going to take three weekends off for the comic. So Foolish Bricks will return on Sunday August 15th. I don’t know if we’ll be able to actually go on vacation due to Covid. However, now that I have three weeks of at work, I feel it’s important to spend the extra time with family. The past few months have been very busy -amongst other things – at work, and I am really happy to get a few weeks to relax. I hope for the comic to return with a bang on August 22th!
I hope you all have a great vacation too!

Sometimes it doesn’t take much. Loving those 2 panels.
If I wanted to be picky… I’d have add a little onomatopoeia near while the effect disapear in the last panel… But that’s just me.
That said… Like I said hundreds of times… I’m so happy you gave up on the 4 same sized panels format from the previous comics…
I had to look up the word (again) 😂. That is a great idea indeed! I use too little sound effect as is. Sometimes it’s difficult because I hear “Dutch” sounds in my mind and have to translate the sounds into English.
The crackling sound would have worked great though…. maybe with one or two little firework-like stars flying around. 😊
I ear you, the thing is that translating the sounds from your language to english ones is funny. Well I found the experience funny myself.
And on the other hand, inserting Dutch sounds would make it a little bit more personal… I mean you already use english for the the text for obvious reasons… So why not mixing Dutch with sounds FX…
Hmmm, thinking about that one. I like the idea!
I know I’m overthinking this comic, but I have a theory on the foolish brick comic in the bookstore. Maybe the psychiatrist’s book was in a comic form and illustrated the fanciful stories told by her patients, not realizing they were true.
I love people thinking about this comic. It simply says there might be more to get out of the comic than was actually put in. The same goes for many works of art or books or movies or whatever; people can just keep talking about them and see things the creator(s) didn’t even notice or deliberately put in.
Thanks!
