I often said how difficult I feel it is to convey emotion in Lego-photography. Especially with Dwaas because he always has the same facial expression. That’s why I am happy with the last panel, I think it shows some emotion and the feeling that Strabo feels sorry for Dwaas.

Actually, Lego made two other faces that would work with Dwaas. There was a happy/excited face in Collectible Minifigures Series 14, and a scary face in a monster fighters.
Yeah, i have those. The problem is those faces are of a darker shade green than Dwaas. 😒
I remember struggling with expressions too, although I used to cheat because I was using Lego Digital Designer and “photoshoped” the eyes and lips of minifigs LOL.
THat said, you always done a great job with expressions IMO, Considering it’s always the samde head or only a double sided head. I guess you are doing great with finding good heads for your characters. I’ll be curious to know if you spend some time to actually pick one head over another for secondary caharacters LOL
Yes I do spend time on that! When picking heads I look around in my collection to see what expressions I can use for that particular head and what expressions I’m probably gonna need for a specific character. However, sometimes I just use a head because that’s the head this character needs (like Willy and Dwaas).
Very seldom I photoshop something in the expression, I think I did that twice or thrice until today.
