1-46 ‘Bee’ gone
As Barry is learning, Eno is not one of the most safe places to be. Mostly I feel it’s fun getting to know a new environment, especcialy knowing I can always go home again to my safe and well known surroundings. Barry however is not that lucky. He has no idea on how to get back home… he doesn’t even know exactly where is now. On the other hand, Barry at the least has some sort of guide with him. Maybe that counts for something.
Hamsters and other pets
Yesterday the co-star of these two 365-photo’s last year (here and here) past away. He was my daughters and her (!) real name is ‘Roosje’…Of course my daughter was devastated, that hamster was everything to her. Roosje was buried in the backyard. As kids we all need to learn how to deal with the loss of life, but it still sucks when the moment is there your kids are learning about that specific part of life. Still remember my dog(s) and cat dying when I was a kid… Those are not the happy memories.
Rest in peace.
By the way, telling kids that it traveled far away and is never coming back doesn’t work. Grandpa died when I was about 5, they tried to lie me but I just knew.
Seriously annoyed by people thinking that 4-9 year-olds can’t understand the world. Humans learn, and it’s not a good idea to teach false facts.
I agree, kids are very, very smart (and I think they are getting smarter with each generation).
I hope so!
