Amida sure seems to have Barry under some kind of control. She’s one tough puppy.
Stage creation
I finally found some time this weekend to build new stages. That is still one of the biggest problems of creating my comic. Finding the time to build stages. Still… it’s also one of the things I like best about keeping this site. Building with Lego, creating is a sort of meditation for me, a way to clear my head. Do you still create using Lego? What is your reason? And if you don’t is there something special that’s keeping you?
Since the first MOC I get to see, I’ve always been amazed by reproduction of mountains or caves. I find it so cool to be able to give a natural look with bricks. Nice work on this, your cave looks amazing, can’t wait to see the inside.
I still create with LEGO, digital LEGO actually with LDD, the bricks of my childhood are kept by my mother for her grand children… Watching other creating webcomics or brickfilms brought me back to creation, and it’s now my main pastime. I love it. I just regret I can’t touch them, but I get to create with all the bricks Lego ever created..l and I don’t need to clean my room anymore haha!
I have to say that holding the pieces, models, figs and building everything with my hands is a big part of my fascination for Lego. And while I’m impressed with all the digital possibilities these days, I am happy to use Lego without using a computer.
(btw I’m looking forward to part II 😉 )
The room cleaning is a thing though…. haha
Yes, the room cleaning is definitely a thing! I don’t even know what to do with the old sets I have from my comic. I might reuse them later, so I’ve just been stacking them in a corner. I need more shelves.
As for the building, I’m not that good at it, I’m afraid, and I don’t have many bricks to spare. I suppose my comic’s sets are minimalist, but that’s another word for lazy.
As long as you have fun with it! That’s the most important to me.
I don’t think minimalistic scenery shouldn’t have to be a problem. If you think of ‘real comics’ / cartoons there are comic’s with enormous detailed backgrounds and some epic cartoons have very minimalistic backgrounds by choice. I think the most important stuff is the story and (mostly) what is going on in the foreground. Backgrounds are just support.

God, I wish I could remove some of my comments…
