A new kid on the block, and he is looking for someone.
New in the Foolish Brick Comic
Finally a new stage! Sorting Lego is starting to pay of! Normally, it would’ve taken me ages to construct a stage as elaborate as this one. Now that a portion of my collection is sorted, it took much less time. The tip of the day, sort your Lego! By part and not by color, that did wonders for me. Do you sort your Lego and if so; how?

I’m somewhat limited by space, so I sort into the following broad categories:
large cases:
plates (with 1×1, 1×2, and 2×2 sorted into baggies within that)
tiles
bricks
“modified” bricks (i.e. those that have odd shapes: wedges, arches, masonry texture, round, etc)
small cases:
peoplestuff useful for Ballinabricky (with heads, torsos, legs, headgear, and useful accessories each sorted into their own baggies)
architecture stuff (doors, windows, castle corner panels, other odds and ends for buildings)
vehicle stuff (bases, wheels, tires, axles, other vehicle-specific parts)
CatholicBricks (all the people and accessories commonly used accessories for my CatholicBricks project at facebook.com/CatholicBricks )
large bag:
not-very-useful stuff (heads, hands, torsos, accessories not very useful for the setting of Ballinabricky as well as a baggie of characters who may recur in the strip but not often enough to keep them in the “people” box)
I recognise the (lack of) space-problem! I use a few crates filled with bags of broad categories myself. You’re pretty well organised it seems!
I’m sure it’s easier to sort pieces by type. LDD could be very inspirational in this way. I found the way they arrange bricks all together is logical and practical. Would need a few different spaces in one box though LOL. I never had that opportunity with real bricks. 1 big box was all I had… And when I was playing with my brother, we’re looking in the same box at the same time to build our sets LOL!
Ah man, that is my youth too, a big box of Lego and me and my brothers. Fond memories 🙂
