Lonely Christmas
2020
After loosing Kemi, Dwaas has a very lonely Christmas this year.
This year, many more people around the world experience loneliness than before the whole COVID-mess hit us. Count our blessings if you have only to stay away from your loved ones for one Christmas and New Years. Next year things will be different. For some… the loneliness never ends.
Merry Christmas everybody!

I wonder what his problem is…. I also wonder if he’s still with this psychiatrist after the way he’s been treated.

Forever Friends
2020
My favourite panel from episode 15. I like the build, atmosphere, colors lighting and composition. In my opinion, in this image it simply all comes together. The fact that it’s Willy and Fidelis is another component because of which I feel very connected to this image. Lastly, to ME the message of this photo is that you can choose to walk into the light, into a bright future and that even in darkness there is always a light to lead you the way out.

Another remake
This is a remake of the situation in episode 9 and episode 10 of the comic. The main change of course is the way the night looks. In the episodes it’s basically darkness or for of an underexposure. in this image it’s more blue-is light, because I wanted to add a sort of moonlight. Still dark, but the moonlit environment brings a lot more to see. I tried this before, but couldn’t get it to work, but again; using a flash brought me the result I was looking for.

Courtyard meeting
2020
Willy and Amida meet in her forest courtyard, under the watchful eye. of Venator. I am very happy with this image, mainly because of all the characters from the first comic. We haven’t seen Venator for a long time and I really like the way he is included, watching over Amida. At some point in the future, I’ll have to bring you his story… including what happened between him and Strabo, and the origins of Hammie.
Another flash-experiment
What I also like is the colors within this image! I always struggle with producing a colorful, bright image. For some reason my images come out of postproduction being dark. This time around it worked and I suspect it had to do with a new way of lighting via flashes. What I also like is the way the continuous lights came out. I had to drag the shutter after flashing to get the to be seen in the photo. Again, something I will talk about in a future tutorial on flash photography and Lego photography. First i want to get the hang of it myself. I’m working on it! 😊

A man walks into the store

A man walks into a store… Who could it be? 😉
You’ll probably already know, but should you want to check…. here’s the answer!
Flash
I never used a flash in any of my work on this site. However, since the end of my sabbatical, I am looking to improve and learn, and using flash-lighting was one of my wishes. And voila; this is my first attempt! I’m fairly happy with it to be honest 😃. My first steps not the world of the strobist!
